Overview

The Frigate encounter in ARC Raiders rewards preparation and clear instructions as much as firepower. Learn how to divide button duties, use Deadlines during coil destruction, prepare smoke and lure coverage, and finish the cargo sequence without losing control of nearby ARC.

The central principle is simple: prepare the dangerous interactions before asking everyone to commit. A player handling the interior setup can reduce the pressure on the rest of the group, but the closing stages still depend on coordinated breaches, button presses, and combat support.

Build a Cooperative Group Before Starting

Recruiting help is part of the strategy, not an interruption to it. Find Raiders willing to stay through the objective rather than immediately searching for loot. Explain the immediate task first: where to stand, which button to use, and where to move afterward.

For the opening coordination shown here, recruit two helpers for the button work. That is a practical arrangement for this approach, not a claim that every stage can be completed by one player. Additional cooperative Raiders can make the later left-and-right breach assignments easier to communicate.

  • Choose one person to give directions throughout the encounter.
  • Move helpers into position before starting a countdown.
  • Use the elevator to bring separated players together.
  • Identify a waiting point away from explosives and active threats.
  • Explain the next movement before activating the current objective.

Short instructions work better than a running explanation of the entire encounter. A player who knows to take the right-side breach is more useful than one trying to remember several minutes of directions.

Pack for Preparation, Not Just Damage

This approach uses explosive damage, deployable distractions, smoke coverage, and recovery tools. Its strength comes from combining those functions rather than expecting one weapon to solve every phase.

  • Deadlines: Used during the coil-breaking preparation, with everyone kept clear of the blast area.
  • Hullcracker and ammunition: Provide explosive firepower during preparation and the later fight against heavy ARC.
  • Smoke coverage: Helps cover the breach and lower-button interactions.
  • Lure Grenades: Redirect machine attention during exposed movement.
  • Surge Coils: Used as part of the distraction setup near the cargo approach.
  • Defibrillators: Support recovery when teammates go down during the final fighting.
  • Grappling Hook: Offers a way to reconnect with the payload when positioning becomes awkward.

Set aside ammunition for the end. Spending every explosive round on the interior leaves the group poorly equipped if a Bastion remains near the cargo. Discuss ammunition sharing before combat rather than discovering an empty reserve while someone is down.

A substantial utility loadout also represents a commitment of ARC Raiders coins and stored supplies. Bring equipment with a defined purpose, and avoid carrying valuable extras that do not help with preparation, survival, or extraction.

Complete the Opening Buttons and Clear the Blast Route

Get helpers to the correct button positions before triggering the opening sequence. Keep the group together on the intended approach rather than letting individual players wander toward exposed areas.

Once everyone is ready, use an audible countdown. Immediately direct teammates toward the agreed retreat side and away from the planned Deadline placement. The important detail is not the wording of the countdown; it is ensuring that every participant understands both the activation and the escape route.

Never combine an explosive warning with an unclear movement order. Tell players where to go, wait for them to clear the area, and only then proceed. Elevator transitions are another opportunity to regroup and confirm that nobody has been left behind.

Break Coils While the Group Holds a Safe Position

Assign the interior preparation to a player who understands the route. Other participants should wait at the designated doorway or holding point rather than following through a space being prepared with explosives.

Deadlines and Hullcracker shots form the destructive portion of this method. Use them deliberately against the relevant coils, then check what remains before moving on. Do not assume that a loud explosion means every required target has been dealt with.

Keep Preparation Separate From the Breach Push

The interior setup can take several minutes. Tell waiting players that the delay is intentional, and provide brief progress updates so they do not enter the work area to investigate.

Before returning to the group, check the remaining coils and explain which areas contain armed equipment. Explosive placement and utility preparation create different hazards: teammates need to know which paths to avoid and which triggers they are expected to cross later.

This is best understood as a solo-prepared, team-finished strategy. One Raider can handle much of the setup, but that does not make the coordinated button and cargo phases a true solo completion.

Prepare Smoke and Distractions for the Cargo Breaches

The cargo approach becomes easier to manage when smoke and distractions are ready before the team starts interacting. Prepare smoke-triggering traps along the intended breach route, and explain their purpose before anyone encounters the visible trigger lines.

Do not tell players that every laser is harmless. Instead, identify the specific prepared smoke triggers and distinguish them from the explosive placements used earlier.

Use Lures to Pull Attention Away From Interactions

Place Lure Grenades to draw nearby ARC away from Raiders who are breaching or moving between interaction points. The setup also uses a Surge Coil near the distraction area, with the intention of keeping machines occupied while the group advances.

Treat that Surge Coil interaction as supporting utility, not guaranteed protection or an unlimited-duration lure. Watch the machines themselves. If they turn back toward the team, adjust the plan rather than continuing an exposed interaction on the assumption that the distraction must still be working.

Smoke and lures serve different purposes. Smoke supports the interaction route, while the lure placement redirects attention. Neither replaces checking whether everyone has reached the next position.

Execute the Breaches and Lower Buttons in Order

Assign left and right sides before entering. Pair the lead player with a helper on one side and send the other participants to the opposite breach positions. Make the assignments explicit enough that nobody needs to guess during the push.

  • Trigger the prepared smoke coverage on the approach.
  • Have both sides begin their assigned breaches.
  • Hold the interaction until each breach finishes.
  • Move across to the next breach positions while distractions are active.
  • Confirm that the opposite side has completed its work.
  • Drop to the lower buttons and locate them within the smoke.
  • Coordinate four button activations, counting each completed round aloud.
  • Board the payload promptly once the sequence is complete.

The confirmation between stages matters. One side moving ahead while the other is still breaching creates confusion precisely when visibility and threat awareness are already limited.

Keep instructions focused on observable actions: finish the breach, cross, drop, press, board. If someone misses the payload position and has a Grappling Hook available, communicate the recovery immediately.

Clear Nearby ARC Before Dividing the Loot

Completing the cargo interactions does not make the surrounding area safe. A Vaporizer and Bastion can still demand attention, and stopping to search containers while teammates fight leaves the group vulnerable.

Focus fire on one immediate threat rather than splitting damage without a plan. In this approach, the Vaporizer is handled before attention shifts to the Bastion. Use smoke to support recovery and ammunition transfers, and direct downed teammates toward a position where they can be helped.

A player carrying Defibrillators should announce that support is available. Others can contribute by sharing Hullcracker ammunition, watching the active machine, and delaying their own looting until the fight is under control.

Once the area is secure, distribute useful ARC Raiders materials according to progression needs. A Frigate Inductor can be especially meaningful to a teammate who needs it for a workbench upgrade. Sharing an immediately useful component often contributes more than leaving each player to race for the same pile.

Finish With an Organized Extraction

Check that every participant is accounted for before leaving. Someone collecting machine parts may still be behind the main group, so ask rather than assuming a missing Raider has already extracted.

Leave enough time for the exit route and avoid treating cargo recovery as the end of the raid. Loot only becomes secured when it reaches extraction. A successful encounter followed by an unnecessary death still sacrifices everything outside the Safe Pocket.

The repeatable lesson is coordination: prepare first, communicate each transition, fight together, and only then divide rewards. That discipline protects both the objective and the equipment invested in reaching it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this Frigate strategy be completed entirely solo?

This approach includes extensive preparation by one Raider, but relies on helpers for coordinated buttons and the cargo finish. It should not be treated as a fully solo route.

Why use Deadlines during coil destruction?

They provide explosive damage during the preparation phase. Keep teammates outside the blast area and verify which coils remain afterward.

Are the laser triggers safe to cross?

Only cross triggers that the setup player has explicitly identified as part of the smoke plan. Do not assume other traps or explosive placements are safe.

Do Surge Coils guarantee that ARC ignore the team?

No. They are used as part of the distraction setup, but Raiders should monitor machine behavior and remain ready to reposition.

When should the group start looting?

After the immediate threats are controlled and teammates no longer need combat or recovery support. Confirm the extraction plan before anyone separates.
