Overview

Learn how to prioritize movement, carrying capacity, and utility skills for PvE, PvP, and mixed raids. Understanding what each perk actually solves helps you spend points on benefits you will use regularly rather than impressive abilities that rarely change an extraction.

Start With Movement and Carrying Capacity

The strongest foundation is not necessarily the most dramatic skill. Moving efficiently and carrying useful loot matter whether you are hunting ARC, fighting Raiders, or collecting resources. Start with recurring problems: running out of stamina, becoming overloaded, and struggling to bring equipment home.

Loaded Arms and Broad Shoulders

Loaded Arms reduces the encumbrance contribution of equipped weapons by half. That distinction matters: it affects equipped slots, not every weapon sitting in your inventory. Heavy weapons become easier to accommodate without consuming as much of your effective carrying allowance.

Broad Shoulders increases maximum carrying weight by 10 pounds when fully invested. Together, these skills create more room for ammunition, supplies, and recovered equipment.

They suit both combat styles. PvE loadouts can include heavy weapons and substantial ammunition reserves, while PvP victories often leave you deciding whether another Raider's weapons are worth the burden. More carrying room also helps preserve the value of ARC Raiders items collected along the way.

Swift Start and Sprinting on Fumes

Swift Start improves the opening of a sprint. Its value comes from repeated use: leaving cover, crossing a gap, and starting a retreat all involve accelerating into movement.

Sprinting on Fumes lets you continue sprinting after stamina runs out, provided you maintain the sprint and avoid taking damage. It is particularly useful for covering long distances, but it is not unrestricted mobility during combat.

The drawback arrives when the sprint ends. Extended running on empty can leave a substantial delay before stamina recovery begins. An adrenaline shot can help overcome that recovery problem, making consumable planning part of the skill's practical value.

  • Use sustained sprinting for travel through relatively safe routes.
  • Do not assume the effect will survive incoming damage.
  • Plan recovery before arriving at a dangerous crossing or contested objective.
  • Carry an adrenaline shot when your strategy depends on recovering quickly after a long sprint.

Evaluate Mobility Tricks by Their Actual Use

Wall Running: Useful Positioning, Limited Reach

Wall running can create unexpected routes and elevated positions. During a pursuit, a Raider with a small lead may reach a ledge that a pursuer does not immediately check, changing the angle of the encounter.

However, the maneuver requires appropriate geometry and precise execution. It has a limited reach and should not be treated as a way to scale any wall. Its strongest application is a practiced route, not an improvised escape you have never attempted before.

Sure-Footed Scrambler: A Terrain-Specific Benefit

Sure-Footed Scrambler extends your ability to maintain footing on steep slopes. At maximum investment, the added duration is two seconds.

That extra window can make traversal more forgiving, but it does not guarantee access to otherwise unreachable ground. Very steep terrain may still stop upward movement. Prioritize this skill when your regular routes contain slopes where the extra time genuinely helps; otherwise, broader movement benefits deserve attention first.

Road Warrior for ARC Hunting and Inventory Efficiency

Road Warrior combines increased ammunition and power-cell loot from ARC with full-efficiency recycling during a raid. Both benefits support longer trips, although their usefulness depends on what you fight and collect.

Loot comparisons involving Hornets and other ARC showed higher ammunition quantities and more frequent two-cell results with the skill. Those outcomes should not be treated as a guaranteed doubling rule: multiple cells can also appear without it.

The ammunition benefit becomes especially relevant when fighting machines that supply expensive ammunition. Rocketeers and Bombardiers are more compelling targets for this purpose than enemies supplying ammunition that is easier to replace. Consider ammunition spent as well as ammunition recovered when judging the benefit.

Why Full-Efficiency Recycling Matters

A microscope illustrates the inventory advantage. Ordinary in-raid recycling produces two mechanical components, while recycling outside a raid yields an advanced mechanical component and three magnets. Road Warrior brings that full-efficiency result into the raid.

The advantage is not that an extracted microscope loses its recycling value. It is that breaking it down efficiently while Topside can create components that stack with resources already in your bag. This helps consolidate ARC Raiders materials without sacrificing the better recycling output.

Inventory efficiency can indirectly protect your ARC Raiders coins budget: bringing back useful resources and avoiding unnecessary equipment losses reduces replacement pressure. It does not make an unsafe extraction route safe.

Crafting, Repairs, and Overload Skills

Nomadic Crafting

Beyond In-Round Crafting and Traveling Tinkerer, Nomadic Crafting adds ammunition, a zipline, and a grappling hook to the available crafting options. These additions offer flexibility, but reaching the relevant Survival investment is a meaningful commitment.

Choose it when you regularly need those options during longer raids. If you usually bring sufficient supplies and extract before replenishment becomes necessary, the same points may deliver more consistent value elsewhere.

Field Repair

Field Repair allows weapon repairs during a raid using the same material cost as repairs outside it. That can support extended combat, especially when weapon durability becomes a limiting factor.

Its important limitation is that the Expedition repair bonus is not applied to the in-raid repair in the described comparison. Players with that bonus can receive a better repair result back in Speranza. Weigh immediate usefulness against material efficiency rather than assuming both repair locations provide identical returns.

Speedy Mule and Mule's Gallop

Speedy Mule reduces the movement penalty from being overencumbered, reaching a 40% reduction at maximum investment. Mule's Gallop allows sprinting while overloaded.

These skills address a different problem from increased carrying capacity: they help after you have exceeded your allowance. They are useful for loot-heavy play, but should not encourage carrying every object regardless of danger. Dropping a lower-priority item can still be the better survival decision.

Combat Utility That Can Wait

Bull Rush

Bull Rush knocks another Raider back and can interrupt interactions, including an extraction interaction. The demonstrated shove did not deal damage, so its value is disruption rather than direct damage output.

It also consumes considerable stamina and requires close proximity. That makes it a specialized choice for interrupting an action, not a replacement for reliable movement or gunplay. Consider both the investment needed to reach it and the risk of approaching an armed opponent.

Weapon Bashing Against ARC

Weapon bashing offers a close-range attack, but its demonstrated damage against ARC was low relative to the exposure required. Even reaching a Wasp safely can be awkward, and attacking other machines at close range can invite substantial incoming damage.

For general PvE progression, this is a lower priority than skills supporting ammunition, carrying capacity, or movement. An emergency attack option does not automatically justify building around it.

Recommended Priorities for Three Playstyles

PvE: Sustain the Hunt

  • Build around Loaded Arms and Broad Shoulders for weapons, ammunition, and recovered components.
  • Add Swift Start and Sprinting on Fumes for travel between encounters.
  • Prioritize Road Warrior when ARC hunting is a regular objective.
  • Consider Field Repair or Nomadic Crafting when long raids repeatedly exhaust durability or supplies.

PvP: Preserve Movement and Options

  • Emphasize sprint initiation, stamina planning, and manageable equipment weight.
  • Use carrying-capacity skills to accommodate recovered weapons without immediately overloading.
  • Add wall running if you practice routes that provide useful positioning.
  • Treat Bull Rush as a specialized interruption tool rather than a core damage skill.

PvPvE: Favor Benefits That Work Everywhere

  • Start with the shared movement and carrying foundation.
  • Add Road Warrior if encounters with ARC routinely consume your supplies.
  • Choose crafting, repair, or overload support according to the problem that most often ends your raids.
  • Leave terrain-specific and close-range utility skills until your core needs are covered.

These are investment priorities rather than fixed point-by-point trees. The best choice is the skill that addresses a repeated limitation in your raids, not a rare scenario that merely looks effective.

FAQ

Which skills are useful across all three playstyles?

Loaded Arms, Broad Shoulders, and Swift Start offer broadly applicable benefits. Sprinting on Fumes is also valuable when you plan around its recovery drawback.

Does Road Warrior guarantee double power cells?

No guaranteed multiplier follows from the loot comparisons. Higher yields were observed, but multiple cells can also drop without the skill.

Does Sprinting on Fumes remove the need for stamina management?

No. Stopping or taking damage ends the sustained-sprint benefit, and prolonged use can leave a recovery delay afterward.

Should players with Expedition repair bonuses take Field Repair?

It depends on whether immediate repairs are essential. Repairs back in Speranza can benefit from bonuses that the in-raid repair does not apply.

Are overload skills better than increasing carrying capacity?

They solve different problems. Capacity delays overencumbrance; overload skills improve movement once it happens. Start with the problem you encounter most often.
