Overview

Sea Treasures Collection Log Overview (17/17)

The Sea Treasures collection log is a full completion checklist tied to Sailing content. To finish it, you’ll need three main things: eight medallion fragments from specific island activities, a sailor’s amulet (obtained along the Sea Treasures progression), and one unique from each salvaging spot (rare drops). The fragments are quick once you know the route; the salvaging uniques are the long grind and can vary wildly in time depending on luck.

This guide lists every fragment location, what items or requirements you need, and the final steps to combine everything into the Medallion of the Deep, including where to turn in salvaging uniques for extra rewards.

Before You Start: What to Bring and What to Expect

Key items you’ll commonly need

  • Boat access and the ability to summon/recover it from docks as needed.
  • Fishbowl helmet and diving apparatus (used for at least one fragment step).
  • An axe (for the teak tree fragment).
  • One piece of fruit (for the raccoon fragment).
  • Optional: teleports that get you near key hubs (for faster routing).

Time expectations

  • Medallion fragments: typically fast, often minutes per fragment once you’re on location.
  • Salvaging uniques: can take a long time due to low drop rates; some players get lucky early, others go thousands of salvages dry.

Salvaging Uniques: How They Work and Why You Should Do Them While Leveling

Each salvaging spot has its own unique item that you need for the Sea Treasures log. These uniques are rare, and the grind is significantly smoother if you pursue them while naturally training Sailing instead of returning later at low experience rates. If your goal is both 99 Sailing and log completion, it’s efficient to treat salvaging uniques as a background objective.

Turning in salvaging uniques at the Verro Museum

When you obtain a salvaging unique, take it to the Verro Museum and speak to the curator. Use the dialogue option that indicates you found something strange while salvaging. Each turn-in generally awards kudos and an experience lamp. You’ll repeat the dialogue for each unique item you hand in, but the rewards add up and help with overall account progression.

All 8 Medallion Fragment Locations (Step-by-Step)

You need eight fragments to assemble the final medallion. You cannot simply combine the pieces immediately; you’ll first collect them all, then unlock the method to assemble them through a short investigation step later.

1) Dog Nose Island: Rusty Chest Lockpicking

Travel to Dog Nose Island and find the rusty chest. Attempt to pick the lock repeatedly until you receive the medallion fragment. A lockpick is not required. Expect a short grind here; some players get it instantly, while others may take a few minutes. You’ll also gain small incidental rewards like coins and Thieving experience during attempts.

2) Great Conch: Coral Reef Investigation (Underwater)

Equip your fishbowl helmet and diving apparatus, then travel to the Great Conch. Head to the area where coral is planted/farmed, go down to the underwater section, and investigate the coral reef to obtain a fragment.

3) Onyx Crest: Pirate Pickpocketing (or Combat)

From Great Conch, summon your boat and sail to the Onyx Crest. You can obtain this fragment from the local pirates either by killing them or by pickpocketing. Pickpocketing requires 60 Thieving. This can be very quick if you hit the fragment early, but be prepared for some variance.

4) Atrocious Island: Feed the Raccoon a Fruit

Travel to Atrocious Island (commonly reached by sailing from a nearby hub such as Deep Fin Point). Bring one fruit and do not eat it. Acceptable fruits include banana, coconut, dragon fruit, janga berries, papaya, strawberry, watermelon, or white tree fruit. Find the raccoon in the northern area of the island and use the fruit on it to receive the fragment.

5) Port Roberts: Silver Stall Pickpocketing

Travel to Port Roberts. If you have a sailor’s amulet, it can be used to reach the area quickly; otherwise, sail in from a nearby port. Go to the main market area and pickpocket the silver stalls until the fragment drops. This is often fast, but like other pickpocket steps, it can vary slightly.

6) Shimmering Atoll: Chop a Teak Tree

Head to Shimmering Atoll by sailing west (commonly from Deep Fin Point). Bring an axe. Cross the island to the teak tree area and chop a teak tree to obtain the fragment. In practice, you should receive the fragment as part of this action; having the axe prevents any confusion or wasted travel.

7) Isle of Bones: Investigate the Cauldron

Travel to the Void Outpost region and sail to the Isle of Bones. Locate the cauldron on the island and investigate it to receive the fragment.

8) Crab Monument: Chart It for the Final Fragment

From the Isle of Bones, you can sail directly to the final location. Find the crab monument and chart it to obtain the last fragment. As a bonus, this step also unlocks the crab dance emote.

How to Assemble the Medallion of the Deep

After collecting all eight fragments, you won’t be able to combine them immediately. To unlock the assembly step, travel to the Pandemonium and enter the bar. Inside, find a crate that can be researched. Researching it gives you the waterlogged journal, which effectively enables the final combination step.

Once you have the journal, combine the fragments to create the Medallion of the Deep.

What the Medallion of the Deep does

The Medallion of the Deep functions as a utility amulet that allows you to go underwater without needing the full diving gear setup. It’s particularly convenient for activities like underwater coral-related tasks, and it can help reduce gear swapping and bank clutter. It also has relevance for a master-tier treasure trail step.

Note: Some underwater areas may still have restrictions on where the medallion can replace diving gear, depending on current game behavior.

Efficient Route Summary (Low Backtracking)

If you want a clean route that minimizes sailing and repeated boat recovery, use this general order:

  • Dog Nose Island (rusty chest)
  • Great Conch (coral reef investigation)
  • Onyx Crest (pirates)
  • Atrocious Island (raccoon fruit)
  • Port Roberts (silver stalls)
  • Shimmering Atoll (teak tree)
  • Isle of Bones (cauldron)
  • Crab monument (charting)
  • Pandemonium bar (crate research + combine)

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a lockpick for the Dog Nose Island chest?

No. You can repeatedly attempt the chest without a lockpick until the fragment appears.

Which fruit works for the raccoon on Atrocious Island?

Several fruits work, including banana, coconut, dragon fruit, janga berries, papaya, strawberry, watermelon, and white tree fruit. Bring one and use it on the raccoon.

Can I get the pirate fragment by fighting instead of pickpocketing?

Yes. The fragment can be obtained from pirates via combat or pickpocketing, with pickpocketing requiring 60 Thieving.

Why can’t I combine the fragments right away?

You must first research the crate in the Pandemonium bar to obtain the waterlogged journal, which enables the final combination into the Medallion of the Deep.

What’s the slowest part of the Sea Treasures collection log?

For most players, it’s the salvaging uniques due to their low drop rate. It’s best to work on them while leveling Sailing to avoid an extra grind later.
